About
Alia Talhouni is a figurative sculptor based in Amman, Jordan. Working primarily with resin and concrete, her practice blends minimalist forms with surreal, dreamlike themes. Her sculptures often explore stillness, presence, and quiet emotional tension—inviting viewers into intimate moments that feel both grounded and slightly out of reach.
Trained at the Florence Academy of Art, Alia’s foundation in classical sculpture is evident in her attention to anatomical precision and proportion. Yet she intentionally disrupts symmetry and embraces irregularity, allowing for a human quality to emerge through asymmetry and textural contrast.
Alia’s work reflects a deep appreciation for form, detail, and the subtle narratives that exist in gesture and posture. Whether crafting functional sculptures or purely contemplative pieces, she often uses the body—fragmented, fused, or abstracted—as a vessel for memory, transition, and quiet surrealism.
